The most beautiful wedding we have ever been to. This was just one of many compliments we received from our guests on our wedding day. Laura walked us through every part of the process and allowed us to put together the wedding of our dreams. It was clear from the start that she was an expert in wedding design and extremely respected by all of the vendors we worked with. Laura allowed our wedding planning to be an enjoyable, worry free experience. On our wedding day Laura took care of everything and truly made it the best day of our lives. Laura and her staff were very professional every step of the way and we do not know what we would have done without them. Laura from Laura Mullen Event Design was fantastic. She was efficient, responsive, prompt, and very organized. Personally, I enjoyed getting to know her and thought she was fun to work with - something I didn't see in other event coordinators/wedding planners that I interviewed. My husband and I actually wish that we had hired Laura at the outset so that she could have assisted us with more of the planning (i.e. finding and booking locations, musicians, etc...).
We hired Laura to do day-of coordination - I first contacted her a few months before our wedding and she was willing to work with me to plan the timeline of the day and coordinate the ceremony, all the set-up and takedown, and the myriad of different things that needed to happen that day. She attended our rehearsal and helped organize the attendants. She handled setting out the special table decor that we had made (fabric for the tables, special cake servers and platters, individual cakes) and worked with the friend who did our flowers to create a beautiful table-scape. She worked with the caterers to make sure the reception space was set up just how we wanted it. She and her assistant handled getting the presents and any keepsakes and other decor from the reception to my parents' house, and she coordinated all the vendors we used that day - making sure the cocktail hour, dinner, and music all happened according to schedule. I even found her doing dishes in the kitchen to make sure all of the things we were taking back to my parents' house were clean. She also followed up with a report of what things hadn't gone according to plan (they were all very minor) and recommended that we contact one or two vendors for follow up (again, all very minor things that we never noticed). Laura displayed a good sense of humor throughout all the events.
We thought hiring Laura was worth the money we paid. It saved us a lot of anxiety and allowed us to relax and really enjoy the celebration. It was so much fun we wanted to do it all over again. We honestly felt that Laura was a big part of how much we were able to enjoy our wedding day.
