WHO'S THAT GIRL?

Laura (Salyards-Fryberger) MullenCFM, is the owner and primary event designer of Laura Mullen Event Design and Guild Coordinator for the Minnesota Craft Brewer’s Guild.  Laura is originally from Duluth, Minnesota.  She completed her BA in Behavioral Science & Law from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2001.  After working as a professional event coordinator for the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia, and then at Minnesota Monthly in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Laura started Flings Event Design in September 2004 which changed it's name to Laura Mullen Event Design at the beginning of 2009.  Laura has loved planning over 250 events during her career with a range of eight to 15,000 attendees.

She is an active Twin Cities community member volunteering her event planning skills to several local non-profit organizations including the Family Tree Clinic and the Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce board of directors where she is the current board co-president, and in the past to the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA), Women Who Really Cook, and others, as well as a long-term blood donor. Laura is ServSafe certified and holds a certificate in Festival and Event Management from the University of Minnesota Tourism Center and has been practicing social- and eco-conscious event planning since she started her career in 2001.

Laura lives and works in her home in beautiful Northeast Minneapolis with her husband Colin, head brewer at Barley John’s Brew Pub, their two cats Gus and Steeler, and adventure dog Hilde. Laura also enjoys reading, travel, cooking, drinking craft beer, visiting local restaurants, visiting her hometown of Duluth, and playing wing on her C1 level WHAM league women’s ice hockey team.
