WHO'S THAT GIRL?
Laura Salyards-Fryberger Mullen, CFM, is the owner and primary event designer of Laura Mullen Event Design. Laura is originally from Duluth, Minnesota. She completed her BA in Behavioral Science & Law from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. After working as a professional event coordinator for the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia, and then at Minnesota Monthly in Minneapolis, Laura started Flings Event Design in September 2004 which changed to Laura Mullen Event Design at the beginning of 2009.
She is an active Twin Cities community member volunteering her event planning skills to several local non-profit organizations such as the Family Tree Clinic, the Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce board of directors, and the board of directors of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA). Laura is ServSafe certified and holds a certificate in Festival and Event Management from the University of Minnesota Tourism Center and has been practicing social- and eco-conscious event planning since she started her career in 2001.
Laura lives and works in her home in Northeast Minneapolis with her husband Colin, a brewer at Barley John’s Brew Pub, and their two cats Gus and Steeler. Laura also enjoys reading, travel, cooking, visiting local restaurants, and playing wing on her WHAM league women’s ice hockey team .
